Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with regulatory and company guidelines.
    • Review, analyze, and report on the financial performance of the company, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure compliance with all financial reporting deadlines.
  2. Month-End/Year-End Close:
    • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
    • Reconcile general ledger accounts, including asset and liability accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
    • Prepare and post journal entries.
  3. Audit and Compliance:
    • Assist in coordinating external audits, ensuring all necessary information and reports are provided.
    • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
    • Stay updated with changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles (e.g., GAAP or IFRS) to ensure compliance.
  4. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Support the finance team in preparing budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analyses.
    • Monitor actual results against budget and provide insights into variances.
  5. Account Reconciliation:
    • Review and reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other financial transactions.
    • Investigate discrepancies and resolve any issues or errors in financial records.
  6. Team Leadership and Training:
    • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support.
    • Assist in developing and implementing accounting procedures and policies.
  7. Software and Systems:
    • Utilize accounting software (e.g., Odoo) to manage financial data and transactions.
    • Propose system improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
